ELECTROSTATIC GUNS - MANUAL
ELECTROSTATIC GUNS - MANUAL
Description
With an Electrostatics charges the paint as it exits the end of the gun, this allows you to achieve a higher transfer efficiency and in some cases a higher quality finish. The charged particles are attracted to the grounded part, this causes them to wrap around the part and to find their way into certain complex shapes that would otherwise require targeted spray which could result in over coating of flat surfaces. Electrostatics can have a downside as well as it is often very difficult to get into tight corners and hidden spaces, this is called “Faraday Cage”. This is much like when two magnets with the same polarity oppose each other and will not come together. Electrostatic Automatic Paint Guns are available as either Air Spray Paint Guns (Conventional) or as Air Assisted Airless Paint Guns these guns are typically mounted on the end of a fixed gun bar, a reciprocator or a robot. Due to the fact that there is no manual control (human control) of the gun, they are almost always required to be used in conjunction with a Fire Detection.
